Bergamot Essential Oil is an inedible fragrant fruit that looks like a lemon colored orange. The scent is taken from the skin and commonly used to flavor Earl and Lady Gray teas. It dates back hundreds of years to France where it was used as an ingredient in perfumes. Aromatherapists commonly use Bergamot Essential oil for relaxing, rejuvenating and uplifting the spirit against depression. It has also been used in cosmetics to balance acne prone skin and to treat rashes and other skin conditions.
** We specifically use a Bergamot essential oil that has been rectified to reduce the level of Bergaptene. (a photosensitizer, found naturally in bergamot oil)
